Paving the Way Project

The Paving the Way Project, Incorporated, is a 501©3 non-profit, community-based outreach program for violence prevention and intervention. In addition to providing services to victims of gang violence, the Project also advocates for community resources; nurtures relationships to increase community revitalization and resilience; fosters agency collaborations, and conducts community outreach and educational forums to support families victimized by gun violence, trauma, and other prevailing community concerns. We are “Paving the Way” toward a brighter, healthier future for individuals and families impacted by violence. LaAmistad was started in 2001 by Bill Maness who was serving as the director of the Gym at Peachtree Presbyterian Church. He noticed a need for neighborhood child to have a safe place to improve their academics and develop strong character. In 2006 LaAmistad became a 501(c)3 non-profit to provide exceptional services to the children and their families. Today LaAmistad has grown into a holistic program that includes afterschool tutoring, parent education, English for Successful Living classes, and summer enrichment activities.

Happy Holidays, kiddo! Did you know everyone has a light inside them? And you can help keep the light bright just by being your kind self. Your light will never get dimmer by sharing your kind words, time, or love with the world. I hope you can find a way to share your light with others. :)
